You can delete your Tagalingo account and its data at any time. Deleting from the app happens immediately and cannot be undone.
Delete from the app
Open Settings → Data & Privacy on the web or in the iOS or Android app, choose Delete account, and type DELETE to confirm.
Delete without the app
If you cannot sign in or do not have the app installed, email support@tagalingo.app from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We may need to verify that you own the account before we proceed.
What deletion removes
Deleting your account removes the following from our active systems:
- your login and profile, including display name, username, and avatar;
- learning progress: lesson completions, spaced-repetition cards, review history, placement results, streaks, and current module;
- drill attempts and personal bests;
- AI tutor conversations and their message history;
- custom vocabulary lists, imported study materials, mnemonics, and any audio saved with them;
- friend connections, blocks, and discussion posts;
- feedback, content suggestions, and word suggestions you submitted;
- notification records, push-notification device tokens, and referral codes;
- your subscription entitlement record in our database; and
- your settings and consent preferences.
We also ask our analytics provider to delete the person record associated with your account, and revoke Sign in with Apple access where you used it.
What is retained, and for how long
Some information remains after deletion:
- a one-way cryptographic hash of your email address, kept for 12 months to prevent repeat free access periods. We do not keep the address itself, and the hash is never used to contact you. If you changed your email address on the account, a hash of the previous address is kept for up to 90 days for the same reason;
- copies inside encrypted backups, which persist until they are overwritten by ordinary backup rotation;
- billing and transaction records, where payment platforms, accounting rules, or law require us to keep them;
- information we must retain for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution; and
- aggregated or de-identified information that no longer identifies you.
Subscriptions are cancelled separately
Deleting your Tagalingo account does not cancel a subscription bought through Apple, Google Play, or our web checkout. Cancel it with whichever of those you purchased from, or you may continue to be charged.
