Again in Tagalog
3 Tagalog words
Which one to use
Ulit, uli, and muli all mean "again" in Tagalog, and you can often use them interchangeably without changing the meaning. Ulit and uli are both common in everyday conversation: Kakain ulit ako and Kakain uli ako both mean "I'll eat again." Muli means the same thing but is more commonly associated with formal writing, speeches, and songs, as in Magkikita tayong muli (We'll see each other again). One important difference is that ulit also means "repetition" and forms words like ulitin (to repeat) and paulit-ulit (over and over). For everyday Tagalog, try using with ulit, but remember that all three can express the same idea of doing something again.
